An Alabama-headquartered financial institution with $157.4 billion in consolidated property has agreed to settle allegations stemming from its forgiveness of a pandemic-era enterprise mortgage.

Areas Financial institution agreed to pay the US $4,919,631 to resolve the allegations. The settlement settlement says that the financial institution’s resolution doesn’t equate to its admission of legal responsibility.
